For all you fans of sock yarns, be you a sock knitter or not, we’ve had this wonderfully squishy and soft sock yarn in the house for a little over a week. The colors are very rich and I’ve been having a hard time not adding one skein of each color to my take-home basket.  (Okay, I did add them, but then I put them back on the shelf. A couple of minutes later I put a few skeins back in the basket.)

Colorway: Aslan. This may or may not be a color still remaining in my take-home basket.

I’ve been browsing through all the patterns on Ravelry – sock, shawlette, sock-weight sweaters, you name it, I’ve looked at it for this yarn.  Looking at patterns is generally followed by adding more yarn to my take-home basket.

22 leaves shawlette by Lankakomero – LOVE the leaves on this shawl – it makes me think of kelp floating gracefully in the currents.

Plain and Simple Pullover by Veera Valimaki – Sweaters out of sock-weight yarn are wonderful for Texas. The folded collar and faux-buttonhole shoulder seam catch the eye, while the cap sleeves make this piece great for layering with a long-sleeve shirt.

AIilbe by Kristi Geraci – The twisted stitches on these mittens really highlight depth of color in the yarns used, and this strikes me as an ideal project for your most favorite color of sock yarn.  Don’t hide it beneath shoes and pant legs, but wear it on your hands for cheering up on cold days.

#15 Lace Pullover by Dora Ohrenstein, Vogue Crochet 2012  A tunic with a ripple stitch pattern, this crocheted top has a loose and lacy appearance which is quite elegant.
