This blanket in Mirasol’s Ushya yarn is knit in a squishy 2 row rib pattern. Knit with US 15 needles, it moves along quickly.
The finished blanket is pretty large, measuring 60″ x 79″, great to share on the couch during movie night or keep it all to yourself while reading on a winter afternoon.
Ushya is a braided yarn, meaning that the plies are not spun together, which adds strength and reduces the possibility of pilling. Composed of 98% Merino wool and 2% Polyamide, it is soft and springy.
The blanket, found in Mirasol Book#19 Ushya, uses 16 hanks of yarn, although if you wanted an even larger blanket, you could just keep going until you reach the size desired.
Best of all, Mirasol is part of our Rocky Mountain Sale, so the yarn is 30% off through 4:30 CDT Saturday July 30.
From our Little Red in the Big City giveaway, Rebecca R. won, leaving a comment saying “I struggle the most with yarn substitution. I always want to find the most affordable yarn and that it rarely the one that the patterns suggest.”
Next up, in case you missed our other announcements about it, we’re cranking the a/c to cooler temperatures inside and WE’RE HAVING A SALE TO CELEBRATE!
The Rocky Mountain Sale means that loads of yarn lines are deeply discounted, not just those in our original announcement (although you’ll need to call or come in to see just what some of the surprise sale yarns are).
